The Prairie Cottage sleeps up to six in two bedrooms and a futon couch. It has a microwave, a compact refrigerator, dishes, silverware, cups, glasses, etc. We have a video collection, TV, a desktop computer and Wireless Internet access, games, puzzles, and cards available for your enjoyment. Your home away from home!

Private cottage is perfect for small groups. Dining table can seat up to 8.

The Prairie Cottage Kitchen

Decorated with vintage kitchen utensils, you'll find our kitchen has lots of room for all your snack foods and simple "quick meal" items.

We furnish a microwave oven, toaster, compact refrigerator, electric grill, and a coffee maker. We also furnish you with dishes, glasses, cups and an assortment of kitchenware. 

 Small reunion groups enjoy lodging here near Lake Okoboji.

Our lodging kitchen is very handy and has lots of kitchen ware available for your use.

Our enclosed patio area is perfect for enjoying the prairie gardens or watching local wildlife. Smoking is allowed in this area, just not on the interior.

Here is a tasty recipe appearing in the Second Edition of the Discover Iowa Travel Guide & Cookbook! 

DO AHEAD POTATO PUFF

6 med potatoes, peeled                      

1 tsp dry mustard

3/4 cup half & half                              

1/4 cup butter                                   

1/4 cup minced onion

1/3 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese

Cook potatoes in boiling salted water until tender. Drain well.

Beat or mash potatoes, just until smooth.  Add next four ingredients and beat until fluffy. Then, add cheese and onion, mix lightly.  Spoon into a greased 1 1/2 quart casserole. 

Bake in preheated 365° degree oven for 50 to 60 minutes. Can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated.  Bake a full 60 minutes.
